Albukhary Foundation Scholarship

The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship program is funded by the foundation to financially support undergraduate international students. Offered at institutions like University of Oxford, University of Warwick, University of York etc. scholarship is awarded on the basis of great academic excellence and financial need.

A scholarship amount of about 20,000 GBP (19,86,045 INR) or 75,000 GBP (74,47,669 INR) for over three years.
The awards cover the living expenses as well as the tuition fees of three years of study.
Only undergraduate students are eligible to apply for the Albukhary Foundation Scholarship.
Selection is done by assessing the applicant’s academic merit and financial need. In addition to that, interviews are also conducted.

The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship can be combined with offering institution’s Academic Excellence, Vice-Chancellors, and other departmental scholarships.

Criterio de elegibilidad

The following eligibility criteria for Albukhary Foundation Scholarship must be met by the candidates:

Nationality: Citizen of an eligible country such as India, Bangladesh, China, Singapore, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc.
- Candidates are advised to check whether the country is eligible
- Proof of nationality is mandatory
Have a conditional or unconditional offer of study from the Albukhary Foundation Scholarship partner, including
- University of Oxford,
- University of Warwick
- University of York
- The Princess Foundation
- Philanthropy University
- IBN Haldun University
Enrolling in a three year undergraduate full- time course.
Age: Must be between 18 to 22 years and should have single marital status
Financial Status: Household income of international students must be below 300 USD. For Malaysian applicants it is MYR 2,000.

The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship application must be made online along with the following supporting documents:

Personal statement (500 words) discussing
- Why are you a strong candidate?
- Why should you be considered for the scholarship?
- How will the scholarship help you achieve your future ambitions?
Proof of financial situation, clearly mentioning the total household income
Academic reference
Sources of any additional funding that is available to you

Note that the applications must be submitted by January 25, 2023. Any delay in submission wouldn’t be acceptable.

The Albukhary Foundation Scholarship is very competitive and only a few people get it. Students are shortlisted for the scholarship based on

Academic merit
Financial requirement

Post the shortlisting students are called for an interview session, where they are judged on following factors:

Socio-Economic Status (40% weightage)
Communication Skills (20% weightage)
Personality (20% weightage)
Attitude (20% weightage)

Final decisions are based on the interview session only. The scholarship covers the tuition fees and UK stay and living expenses for a duration of three years of study.

The scholarship will be renewed only if the candidate is consistently maintaining his academic performance for the next year or study

Terms and Conditions

Candidate must belong to one of the countries listed under Albukhary Foundation Scholarship
Submission of a proof of nationality when the scholarship is offered is non-negotiable
The scholarship amount is paid in two instalments each year over a period of three years.
Scholarships will be renewed for each year for the minimum duration of the course.
Scholarships can be combined with other departmental scholarships/bursaries.

Albukhary Foundation Scholarship is awarded by the generous donation from a Malaysian charitable trust, namely Albukhary Foundation. It aims at providing the meritorious student with world class education and provides the needy with financial assistance for their higher education.
