GREAT Scholarship

To support and encourage international students to pursue higher studies in the UK, British Council and UK universities have launched a GREAT Scholarship. This program allows the recipients to complete their postgraduate(taught) program in any one of the participating UK universities.

Under GREAT Scholarship program, more than 100 scholarships will be awarded for academic session 2022-2023.
Eligible countries for the scholarship are India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Turkey.
The chosen postgraduate program, to study in the UK, should begin in September only.
The list of participating UK universities varies from country to country.
GREAT Scholarship recipients get a minimum award of GBP 10,000.

GREAT scholarship covers the full tuition fees for one-year postgraduate programs or the tuition fee for the first year of master’s degree programs with a duration of two years.

Criterio de elegibilidad

Students wishing to study in UK, with the help of GREAT Scholarship, must fulfill the following criteria:

Citizen and present residents of India, China, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia or Thailand.
Completed UG degree in your home country.
- Eg: GREAT Scholarship- India applicants must have done a UG degree from Indian college.
Dedicated and academically excellent to pursue a master's/postgraduate (taught) program in the UK.
- Relevant work experience or proven interest in the chosen field of study.
Fulfill English language requirement of the interested UK university via IELTS or equivalent test score.
Chosen postgraduate program must begin in September.

Applicants must be excited to explore the UK higher education experience, and willing to actively engage in extra-curricular activities.

Before applying for the scholarship, it is significant for the students to obtain admission at their chosen (and eligible) UK university. On receiving the confirmation of admission, they must complete GREAT Scholarship on the university’s website itself.

How to Apply for GREAT Scholarship India Application?

2. Plan to pursue a full-time postgraduate program in the UK?
3. Is the program beginning in September?
Complete the online application form.
Provide the required student supporting documents

Ensure that you complete the application form and then submit it. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.

Student Supporting Documentation

A valid passport and UK student visa
Graduation mark sheet and certificate
ELP certificate(Test scores like IELTS/TOEFL/CAE can be submitted)
All other requirements as laid out by the selected university.

Based on pre-set criteria, the British Council panel will review each application. An interview will be conducted for the candidates who have been shortlisted as part of the final selection process.

GREAT Scholarship recipients will be informed by the university and will issue the funding after registration.

The selection panel of the British Council will make the final call on awarding the scholarship. Selected candidates will have to make their financial arrangements for the living, travel, and study in the UK.
