International Student Excellence Scholarships

As one of the leading Australian institutions, Griffith University offers international students a chance to pursue their chosen courses at a reduced tuition fee via International Student Excellence Scholarships.

Applicable for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Griffith University, the scholarships are awarded on the basis of the applicant's academic merit and potential.

Both UG and PG program recipients are given 25% of the tuition fee reduction on their chosen program.
The scholarship is renewable for the entire duration chosen degree program, depending upon the fulfillment of ongoing scholarship eligibility.
Griffith University does not require a separate scholarship application. Students will be evaluated based on their admission application.

As mentioned earlier, students are not required to submit any separate application to be considered for Griffith International Student Excellence Scholarships. All recipients of this award will be notified in their Letter of Offer from Griffith University. They can find details of the scholarships they have received in the tuition and other fees- additional information section of their offer letter.

Criterio de elegibilidad

Griffith University clearly mentions the eligibility criteria that students are expected to meet in order to qualify for these undergraduate and postgraduate excellence scholarships:

Citizenship: International fee-paying students belonging to countries other than Australia and New Zealand.
Academic Excellence: Obtained a minimum GPA of 5.5 on 7.0 scale (or equivalent).
- For Indian UG applicants, GPA score 5.5 means minimum 80% in high school
- For Indian PG applicants, GPA score 5.5 means minimum 70 (out of 100) in tertiary education.
Fulfillment of chosen program’s admission requirements, as specified by Griffith University.
- Only full-time students will be considered.
Proof of English Language proficiency (as per program requirement)

Proceso de selección

Since there is no separate application for Griffith International Student Excellence Scholarship program, the overall selection process goes as follows:

Submit your application for admission to Griffith University
Evaluation committee will verify your eligibility and achievements
If shortlisted, confirmation of award will be specified in your Letter of Offer.

The International Student Excellence Scholarships are awarded to international students on the basis of academic merit.

Ongoing Scholarship Requirements

As specified, this is a renewable scholarship program for UG and PG students. Each recipient need to fulfill the requirements mentioned below to renew their scholarship for next Trimester or academic session:

Remain enrolled as a full-time student (40CP) in your chosen program and degree.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.5 (7.0) to qualify for tuition fee waiver.
Pay the remaining tuition fee (amount post waiver) by the deadline specified by the university in the letter.

Any recipient failing to meet the requirements mentioned above will be considered ineligible for renewability of the scholarship program.

There are certain terms and conditions attached to the International Student Excellence Scholarships. Griffith University advises UG and PG applicants to carefully read all the terms and conditions mentioned below:

The scholarship will not be awarded to students who defer the commencement of their studies to a later semester.
The scholarship will only be awarded for the duration of the program as stated in the students’ Letter of Offer from Griffith University.
If the student receives a scholarship from Griffith University which awards a higher amount than 25% of the tuition fee, the scholarship with the higher award amount will be applied instead of the International Student Excellence Scholarship.
Only students who belong to the International Fee Paying category will be considered for the award. IIf the International Fee Paying status changes anytime during the course of study the scholarship will automatically get retracted.
Students enrolling in Higher Degree Research programs, Masters Qualifying Programs, MBA programs, English Language programs, non-award programs and offshore delivered programs cannot be considered for this scholarship.
