Sir John Monash Scholarships for Excellence

Sir John Monash International Scholarships for Excellence is awarded to academically outstanding students who desire to pursue undergraduate studies at Monash University. Annually, 10 highest achieving students from across the world are selected for the scholarship program, at the time of admission itself.

Benefits of Monash International Scholarships for Excellence

It provides 10,000 AUD per year for a full-time course of study.
Scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years, depending upon recipients' academic performance.
Provides for a leadership program for the first year commencing undergraduate students.
Scholarship holders will get the opportunity to participate in relevant Monash marketing, recruitment, and promotional events.

This scholarship covers only tuition and fees and cannot be used for airfares, living and accommodation expenses, or health cover, and other related expenses are also not covered.

Criterio de elegibilidad

The eligibility requirements for Sir John Monash Scholarships for Excellence, designed for UG students, are quite straight-forward:

Citizenship: must be an international student.
Minimum Academic Qualification: studying/completed Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in Australia.
Academic Performance: must have outstanding academic performance.
Language Proficiency: must attempt TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE score
- TOEFL score of 79 and above (writing:21, listening:12, reading:13, speaking:18).
- IELTS score of 6.5 and above.
- PTE score of 58 and above (communication score of 50 and above)

Eligible Undergraduate Courses

This scholarship is applicable only for Bachelors degree for the following subjects:

Proceso de solicitud

No separate applications are required for Monash Scholarship for Excellence. Applications of eligible students for any undergraduate degree course at Monash University will be automatically considered for the scholarship.

Applications for the UG course must be done through VTAC*
Current students of Monash University will need Monash student ID, applicant id, and password.
Provide necessary supporting documents.
Required documents can also be mailed as a single pdf to sebs.csu.documents@monash.edu

Proceso de selección

The selection process for Sir Johns Monash Scholarship for Excellence of eligible applicants is fully merit-based. Details of the selection criteria are as follows:

Academic achievements and outstanding academic performance are taken into consideration.
Awarded to 10 highest achieving students.
Eligible Students must have an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 98.00+ or equivalent.

The scholarship can be deferred. To retain this scholarship there are a few criteria that must maintain a Weighted Average Marks of 70 or above.

Note: Students with an ATAR of 98.00+ or equivalent, will be automatically considered for this scholarship when they apply for a Monash undergraduate degree through VTAC.
