Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships

Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships is offered to both domestic and international students who wish to pursue higher studies at the Delft University of Technology. It applies to 2 year MSc program offered by the Delft University of Technology.

Students must have a CGPA of 80 or above from a recognized institute or university.
Separate scholarship applications must be submitted before December 01, 2022.
- It should include 2 reference letters.
The number of awards given is 2 per faculty.
Recipients will receive upto 30.00 EUR annually.
- They will also be access to personal development, workshops, seminars, etc

Criterio de elegibilidad

The eligibility of students is tested on the basis of their superior performance and academic excellence. An international student must meet admission requirements at the Delft University of Technology. In addition to that, they must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

Enrolling one of the two-year regular TU Delft’s MSc programs.
Completed their Bachelor’s degree from an internationally renowned university outside Netherlands.
- GPA of Bachelor’s degree must be 80% or higher.
Proficiency in the English Language is a must and should be established via one of the following grades and certificates:
- TOEFL iBT score of 90+ (Minimum score of 21 for each section).
- IELTS score of at least 6.5 (Minimum of 6.0 for each section).
- C1 Advanced Score of 176+

Note: Registering for a test could take several months depending on the location, thus it is advised to register for the test well in advance.

The applicants who obtained a bachelor’s degree at an overseas branch of a university from the USA, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada are not exempted from the English language proficiency requirement.

Proceso de solicitud

Students must complete their admission application before submitting a scholarship application. They must note that application form must be complete in itself along with 2 reference letters either in English, French, German or Dutch.

It must be from a previous professor or assistant professor.
It must be written on official letterhead or have an official stamp of the university.
Signed by the referee including your name.

The referee has a choice to mail the reference letter to contactcentre-esa@tudelft.nl. An email should have an applicant full name and university student number.

This number is given upon registering in Studielink. If you choose this option, you must upload a statement under "reference letter" in osiaan.tudelft.nl and inform the university of this decision. It should include the name and e-mail address of the referee.

Proceso de selección

After the applications have been recieved by the university, next comes the selection process. Candidates will be judged based on their scholarship application, test scores, and reference letter.

Only recipients of Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships will be informed by TU Delft via email by the end of March 2023.

Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships is an excellent opportunity for students who wish to study in one of the top universities in the Netherlands, Delft University of Technology.

The scholarship is available for both international and domestic students. Scholarship amount differs for both type of students :

For domestic students: 11.500 EUR per year.
For international students:30.00 EUR per year.

It includes a full-tuition fee and contribution to living expenses. The scholarship also provides access to personal development, workshops, seminars, etc.

Students must note that Justus & Louise van Effen Excellence Scholarships is offered only after admitted to one of the MSc programs offered by Delft University of Technology.
