UBC International Major Entrance Scholarships

UBC International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are presented to exceptional international students entering the University of British Columbia(UBC). Students must commence their undergraduate programs offered by UBC to be eligible for the same.

Recipients will get their IMES when they enter their first year of study at UBC.
The no. of UBC International Major Entrance Scholarships is renewable for up to three additional years of study.
The number and level of these scholarships awarded annually vary, depending on available funding.

Once a student receives an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia, he/she will be automatically considered for IMES merit-based awards. Consideration is based on demonstrated academic achievement and extracurricular involvement of the students.

Criterio de elegibilidad

To be considered for UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship, prospective applicants must fulfill the eligibility requirements listed below:

Must be an international student with a Canadian student visa to study at the university.
The applicant must be commencing any UG course offered by UBC.
Must show exceptional academic achievement and as well as impressive extracurricular and community involvement.
Must not be nominated for :
- Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award
- Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award

Proceso de solicitud

No separate application is required to be one of the recipients of the UBC International Major Entrance Scholarship. However, they will be evaluated on their admission applications.

Proceso de selección

Candidates will be considered for this scholarship shortly after they receive an offer of admission to the University of British Columbia.

The recipients for the scholarships will be assessed on their academic scores, SOP and ELP scores submitted at the time of admission application.

The final decisions regarding recipients of the scholarship are taken between mid-March to the end of April each year.
