NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship

NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship supports incoming freshmen students from various Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, etc; except Singapore. Annually, a limited number of scholarships are awarded to students commencing UG degree programs in the field of Computing, Engineering, or Science, in a full-time mode at National University of Singapore.

Suitability for the scholarship is evaluated based on the undergraduate admission application.
Recipients of the NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship receive
- 100% tuition fees waiver
- 6,000 SGD as a living allowance
- 2,000 SGD as one-time settling-in allowance
- Annual on-campus housing allowance (for lowest double-room rate)
- One-way airfare from home country to Singapore
- Return ticket to home country on completion of the NUS UG Science and Technology program.
Students are shortlisted based on their academic achievements, personal statement, and interview session.

This National University Singapore Scholarship is applicable to only those who will be pursuing a UG course in Computing, Engineering, Science (excluding Pharmacy), and Environmental Studies. The scholarship program is renewable for the duration of the NUS UG program.

Criterio de elegibilidad

Applicants of NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship are required to fulfill the following criteria to verify eligibility:

Citizenship: National and current resident of any Asian country except Singapore.
Academic Qualification: Minimum 70% in class XII (Indian students) or equivalent IB score
Demonstration of leadership skills and strong academic potential
Well-maintained co-curricular record with outstanding achievements.
Fulfill requirements for admission at National University of Singapore
- Applying for full-time UG program in Computing, Engineering or Science (except Pharmacy)

Only those who will fulfill all these requirements will be considered for the scholarship program.

Proceso de solicitud

Candidates are not required to complete any external application for NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship. They will be considered for the scholarship based on the details provided in the admission application.

The guidelines for NUS Undergraduate program admissions are:

Completion of Class XII before applying for admission
Submission of SAT or ACT score or Advanced Placement Score
Scores of English proficiency tests like TOEFL/ IELTS.

In terms of application deadlines, the university has a flexible approach. The deadlines are set as per the academic cycles of respective countries.

Proceso de selección

The NUS Undergraduate Scholarship selection panel shortlists candidates on the basis of their academic performance. After that, shortlisted applicants are invited for an interview session via e-mail. Also, the email will include a link where candidates must upload their:

Personal statement
Achievement in co-curricular activities
Academic transcripts

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear for an interview session which will be conducted from March to June. And, the recipients will be informed about their selections for NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship in mid-July.

On-going Eligibility

The scholarship amount will be renewed every semester on the basis of the scholar’s performance and cumulative average point (CAP) of at least 3.5.

The benefits of the NUS Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship are not limited to a waiver of tuition fees. The recipients of this scholarship are entitled to the following benefits:

SGD 6,000- Annual living allowance
SGD 200- One-time settling-in allowance
For on-campus accommodation in Singapore, an annual accommodation allowance equivalent to the lowest double room rate is provided.
On commencement of the study, one-way airfare is provided for the student’s travel from their home country to Singapore.

Terms and Conditions

The scholarship award is subject to some terms and conditions which must be carefully read by every applicant before acceptance.

The scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in a full-time UG course in Computing, Engineering, Science (except Pharmacy) and Environmental Studies (specialization in Environmental Biology only).
The scholarship is permissible for the duration of the UG course at NUS.
The recipients of the scholarship will have to enter a six-year bond with a Singapore-registered company following graduation.
Recipients are not allowed to concurrently hold other scholarships, fellowship, bursary, grants or other allowances unless approved by the University.
For overseas program students, the scholarship will be restricted to one semester only for the entire study period.
Recipients are expected to become a part of community programs and involve in similar projects according to the direction of the University.
Any scholar is not guaranteed employment upon graduation from NUS.
If the recipient withdraws from the University, the scholarship will be terminated. The University may demand the repayment of scholarship amount provided to the scholar.
