I got into Deakin University because it is the third recognised university for Victoria and it's tuition fee is reasonable
Course Curriculum :
It is a well organised and structured syllabus, I think only one unit was poorly organised for my bachelors degree. The university takes student's opinion seriously as since I have left Deakin university it has improved tremendously in infrastructure and also course output.
Exams :
I didn't require to do any admission test since in Sri Lanka I studied an international school and I first applied to do yera 12 in Australia not directly to university
Placement :
When I was enrolled in Deakin university they only offered two week placement but you had to contact the organisation by yourself. However they ahve improved since I left the university. In monash their is different office where you can find work opportunities but again you have to find it yourself. They will help with your resume and CV.
Events :
Deakin university is not spacious compared to Monash university but they do have a grounds for sports activites and wetland for environmental students. There are different societies, their main society is DUSA which helps all students to fit into campus life, there are special benefits if you get their membership. I know for Monash university their societies targeting cultures for instance Bangladesh student society for Monash. This help new students to adapt to the campus life easily.

Faculty :
In both universities faculty members are very approachable. In the bachelors unit there is a higher ratios of students compared to the masters class for every subject. The bachelors unit had a t least 700 students for lecture but seminars were conducted in small groups of 20 to 30 students. The masters class only consisted of 30 students.
Hostel :
No I live with my Aunty and her family but I know that when I was going to Deakin their student rooms were around $1000 per month.
